Spring 2020 Newsletter
As we all find ways to adapt to the challenges of the pandemic, we’re seeing the strength and resilience of the people around us. From creative ways to connect with loved ones to the outpouring of support for those on the front lines, we’re inspired each day by the solidarity shown by our community.
While we can’t see their smiles, we know they are there! Association to Benefit Children’s Education Specialist shared, “Words cannot express how grateful our families were to receive this [Choose Creativity] care package… They are so happy to have this to help them keep their kids busy and have fun at the same time.” Each packet contained markers, scissors, glue, and our new Choose Creativity activity book. We’ll be bringing more packets to other partner sites soon!
In February, we launched a series of new corporate professional learning workshops with our leading Choose Creativity Awards sponsor, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. To date, we have explored being authentic, curious, and this week via a virtual meet-up, present and inspired. Thank you to everyone at ASCAP who joined us. We love working with you to explore how the Principles support bringing our best selves to work.
We’re adapting to a world of Zoom and Microsoft Teams! We have introduced Choose Creativity over two workshops to more than 60 educators working with NYC DOE community school students. In these workshops, we have seen how the Principles resonate with these educators. They’re building their own creative confidence as they work to take care of kids facing so many challenges. It’s an honor to work with these selfless individuals, giving them tools and strategies that are making a difference for them, at home and in their work.
